for having failed to appear and testify did not put In an appearance as his attorneys had hoped he would but other witnesses gave testimony that held the attention of all the persons present Presents of 8tock One of the features of the day was the detailing of the manner In which the Northern Pacific stock as owner of which Power and other persons brought suit to prevent the Northern Securities company from securing the Northern JPacIflc company was put in their possession Another Incident was the reference to Governor Van Sant of Minnesota The witness who brought In the name of the Minnesota governor was Herbert Lilmberger counsel for Content Co who figure In the proceedings Views of the Governor He said: "In mgr- negotiations -with Judge Lancaster of Minneapolis It was understood that suit could be brought only by a stockholder Governor Van San said he would have nothing to do with a and that he would not touch the case unless It were agreed the action would be Record of Entries Entries as to the purchase of 100 shares of Northern Pacific stock by Weldenfeld Deo 26 1901 and of payments of cash on account of Weiden-feid and Captain Stern were put in evidence The account of Ellsworth I Chapman was asked for but Llmberger de dined to' produce it on the ground that It was not pertinent Mr Guthrie splnted out that Mr suit was only one of several brought
