Born January 8, 1955, Mike grew up in Sloughton, WI, where he completed high school, developed an unwavering loyalty for the Green Bay Packers, love for life's simple treasures, which included importance of family, good friends, and a strong work and volunteer ethic.

He subsequently completed both an associate and undergraduate degree in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Mike and his wife Karen were married for 21 years, together raising a son, Nick, 17, and daughter, Kelly, 12. Mike worked at Medtronic as a lead technician for the past 19 years. Also important to Mike were his church and community where he assumed active volunteer roles. Included were support of Boy Scout Troop coaching youth sports, serving as mentor to students in the Medtronic Explorer Post.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Mac and mother, Norma. He is survived by his wife, Karen and children, Nick and Kelly; sisters, Kathy Brekke and Connie Jungwirth; goddaughter, Lillie Anna Albright; several nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Our family, our community, and our world is a better place because of Mike's active, yet peaceful life journey. A visitation will be held from 3 to 8 pm, with the services following at 8 pm on Tuesday, June 6 at St. Philip's Lutheran Church, 6180 NE Hwy 65 in Fridley.

Sabes, age 88, is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Moe was born September 5, 1911 in Minneapolis, MN. Moe lived his entire life in Minneapolis and was a vibrant participant in its business, social and religious communities. Moe retired in 1988 as President of the American Fruit Produce Company after 55 years of dedicated service. Moe graduated from North High School in 1930 and he attended the University of Minnesota.

He served in the United States Army 187th Engineers Combat Battalion, and fought overseas in Germany during World War II. Moe was an avid golfer and a member of Oak Ridge Country Club, Hopkins, MN and Gainey Ranch Country Club, Scottsdale, AZ. Moe member of the Adath Jeshurun Congregation. Throughout his life, Moe provided leadership to many community organizations, including serving as trustee of the Teamster's Central States Health Welfare Plan and serving as a director of the First Produce State Bank, Minnesota Wholesale Distributors Association, Adath Jeshurun Congregation, Minneapolis Federation for Jewish Services, Mount Sinai Hospital, Jewish National Fund Council of Minnesota, and Oak Ridge Country Club. Among his many distinctions, Moe was honored as a leading supporter of Israel Bonds, Minneapolis Federation for Jewish Services, Sholom Home West and Jewish Family and Children's Services.

Moe was a pioneer in the establishment of the Jewish-Christian Chair at the University of St. Thomas and a founder of the National Holocaust Museum. His formal education consisted of one year of college at Great Falls University and then he attended and graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics. He was united in marriage to Margaret Coughlin on June 23, 1945 in Seattle, WA. Daniel was hired by Northwest Airlines in March of 1945 as a meteorologist at Mpls. He became Area Chief Meteorologist at Anchorage and Seattle, and in 1959 was appointed Superintendent of Meteorology. He also earned several awards, including the Flight Safety Foundation Admiral Louis De Flores Award, the U.S.

Dept. of Commerce NOAA Special Service Award, the ATA Edgar S. Gorrell Award, the FAA Distinguished Service Award, the Special ATA Award, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Atmospheric Environmental Technical Committee Award, was appointed a member of the National Academy of Science Committee by the U.S. Congress and most recently received the Northwest Airlines Presidents Award for 2000. He worked for Northwest Airlines for 42 years and retired in 1988.

He also enjoyed woodworking and was an avid fisherman.
