Charlotte Snapp, 98, a Minneapolis dress designer whose customers included members of the Dayton and Pillsbury families, died Thursday at Park Nursing and Convalescent Center in St Louis Park. Snapp was born in Denver. In her teen years she worked in an exclusive shop in Denver, then moved to Minneapolis. She had no formal fashion schooling and never went abroad to visit the fashion houses of London or Paris, but her designs had a European quality nonetheless.

During her career she worked with more than 150 dressmakers, including a prominent Minneapolis designer, Jenny Lee. From the 1940s until 1978 she operated out of her large apartment on Dupont Av. S. She would take her vacations in Hollywood and designed dress for actresses, including Jean Harlow. develop the Hazelden Foundation Aimee Mott Butler, unlike the dark, impersonal St.
