wicks, Minneapolis. The elder Gornitzka for 30 years was associated with the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis as teacher, dean and acting president. He and his wife moved to Tuesday that a reward is be-pfj, ing offered for information- penny of the $13.4 million they requested. The 1969-71 junior college request of $24.3 million is said to have been cut by perhaps one-half. ALSO substantially reduced were requests by the Department of Corrections, which had asked $6.9 million, and a half-dozen other state agencies, which had requests totaling $15.5 million.

Sources close to the building commission said Tuesday that the governor's budgetary agents had expressed concern about the size of spending requests. The difference between state spending requests and anticipated income has been estimated to be at least $124 million, and LeVander has indicated he will ask for some increase in taxes. IF THE legislature follows a 1967 precedent and uses current revenue to pay off building bonds, it could add another $8 to $10 million to that figure. Jewelry Taken in Burglary sure by Gov. Hnwkinson, 21, 4111 Thomas Av. N. Fire Victims Schoolmates of three brothers killed in a home fire early Monday took up collections Tuesday at their1 two schools to honor the dead youngsters. The collection at Jefferson Junior High School by friends of Michael Gates, 14, raised almost $200, according to student fund-raisers. "WE WANTED to do something to show how sorry we are," said Cathi Springer, 15, 2300 Lyndale Av.

an organizer of the collection and -Mike's steady girlfriend Vfor more than a year." John Miller, 16, 407 Morgan Av. also helped run the lunch-hour collection. "Mike was everybody's friend," he said. The largest gift was a $10 bill, Cathi said. Most contributions were smaller.

The students hope to buy flowers for Mike's funeral today. They also said they hoped to help the boys' mother, Mrs. Betty Hill, who is separated from her husband. FRIENDS OF Michael's two younger brothers, Patrick, 11, and Scott Norris, 8, made plans to help. Patrick, a sixth grader, and Scott, in the 3rd grade, had attended Calhoun School, and an assembly is planned there today, according to Calhoun Principal Richard J.

Hanson. Hanson said the youngsters-at Calhoun already had collected $10 and bought flowers for the funeral today, lie said teachers also had contributed. But the assembly today is "to let all our children contribute and themselves if they chose to do so," Hanson said. Joseph E. Bell, 1299 E.

Premium gasoline in Puerto Rico has an octane rating of 98 while regular gas is rated at 87. The 1967 Legislature appropriated $68.8 million for buildings after reviewing requests totaling $200.2 million. Part of the increase in the amount to be recommended today was laid to rapidly rising construction costs.

As was the case two years ago, the University of Minnesota entered one of the largest requests and took one of the largest cuts. THE BUILDING bill is said to recommend about $30 million for the university, which had asked for $133.3 million in construction funds, including $85 million for its Twin Cities campuses. The state colleges, which had their $77 million request cut, to $21.5 million two years ago, will fare much better. The current $42.6 million request is understood to have been reduced to something under $25 million. However, junior colleges fared far less well than they did in 1967, when the commission approved every Ouane E.
