Full B12 Sunday, Nov. 05, 2023 REMEMBERING Proctor, Georgiana T. Age 78, of Brooklyn Park, former 52 year resident of Brooklyn Center, passed away October 27, 2023, sur- rounded by loved ones. Preceded in death by her loving parents Carl and Laura Uselman; sister Laura Jane Rebhan (Herbert) and husband Alton Proctor. Born July 19, 1945 and raised in St Paul, Georgie graduated from St.

Academy in 1963. Sole owner and operator of Beauty Shop in Brooklyn Center for 41 years. Survived by her brother Carlton (Sharon) Uselman; children Dean (Laura) Magnuson, Deborah (Richard) Synowczynski, Dana (Rebecca) Magnuson-Lee and Christine Coady; 11 grandchildren Jesica (David) Sexton, Lindsay Synowczynski (Matt Madson), Kyle (Julia) Synowczynski, Kevin (Jessica) Synowczynski, Laura Synowczynski, Alyssa Magnuson, Abigail Magnuson, Isabella Magnuson-Lee, Georgia Magnuson-Lee, Hazel Magnuson-Lee, August Magnuson-Lee; and 4 great- grandchildren, Jack, Michael, James Sexton, and Penelope Jo Synowczynski. An avid sailor, he loved to solo on Lake Superior around the Apostle Islands and on Lake Harriet in Mpls.

Don is survived by his wife, Lynn, 2 sisters Barbara Remington of Duluth and Mary Kay Staudohar (Jon) of Venice, Florida, and a brother Robert Remington (Gloria) of Victoria, B.C. Canada. After a pri- vate internment at Fort Snelling Na- tional Cemetery, a celebration of life will follow at a later date. Rosell, Barb J. (nee Cockburn) Age 81, of Mounds View passed away with her chil- dren present on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023. Survived by Don, her husband of 53 years; children Rob Mindy (Rich) Calieri; grandchildren Vanessa Ethan. Also survived by many nieces nephews.

Barb was a seamstress, worked at the Guthrie Theatre, and Bridal, and then was a stay at home mom for her children. She was active in Mission Work- shop at her church. Beloved mom, grandma, friend, confidant, teacher, student, healer, shaman, writer, poet, bringer of joy, and maker of magic, Gerry taught English in the Osseo School District for more than 40 years and fought a heroic battle against breast cancer. Judy was born in 1948, grew up in Minneapolis, and graduated from Academy of Holy Angels. She at- tended business college, where she met David. They married in 1972, and later welcomed three children. After being widowed unexpectedly, she did an amazing job of raising their children.

Judy was a devout Catholic whose faith was very im- portant to her. She was proud of the accounting work she did, and that she worked for the same com- pany for over 30 years. Judy loved helping others and often volun- teered in her community and at church. She valued the friendships and relationships she made throughout her life. She enjoyed ice cream, playing games and cards, especially Bunco and 500, singing, and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

Judy was a kind, independent, smart, hardworking, feisty, witty, and caring person who had an inner strength and determi- nation that was admired by many. Above all, Judy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grand- ma. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Hwy 100 Smith, Darrel On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, Darrel, beloved hus- band, father of four sons, and grandfa- ther of five passed away at the age of 87. Darrel Smith, of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Darrel was born in Stafford, Kansas to Wayne and Elva Smith on June 28, 1936. Darrel and his wife Margaret married in June 1961 and began their adventures together, including raising four boys, fishing, golf, playing cards, and enjoying precious time with family and friends. Darrel was a very suppor- tive father and enjoyed spending time watching his sons and grand- children play sports.

Darrel will be deeply missed for his kindness, generosity, quick wit and sense of humor. Darrel was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, father, Wayne, and his mother, Elva. Paul. Anna was a resident there since August 2022 and had been previously diagnosed with Alzhei- Anna was born Sept. 5, 1942 in Danville, IL to Edward and Eleanor Sokolofski, the eldest of three children. Anna grew up in Westville, IL, attending Schlarman High School and the University of Illinois majoring in piano performance. Anna was an accomplished musi- cian who played piano, violin, and organ.

After college, Anna joined the Sisters of St. Benedict in Nauvoo, IL, and while she ultimately left before taking final vows, she befriended Mary Keefe Kelly and they remained friends for the rest of life. In 1975, Anna enrolled at George Williams College in Illi- nois for her MSW. While there, she met Chuck Tracy. They moved to St.

Paul in 1977 and were married Sept. 20, 1980. She spent the last 40 years of her life in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood of St. Paul.

Anna was a dedicated social worker both in private practice and at non- profits, including Catholic Charities, North End Medical Center, and Chrysalis Center. Above all she was devoted to her children. She spent hours attending her ac- tivities, cooking meals, baking, and creating a supportive environment for them. Anna was a kind and gentle soul, who enjoyed knitting, weaving, and studying meditation; but being a mother was her true passion. Anna is survived by husband Chuck, daughter Megan (Tom Koreltz), son Nathan (Emily) of St.

Paul, grand- children Ryan Koreltz and Cora Grace Tracy, brother Ed (Diane) of Evanston, IL, sister Jean (Wayne Heiser) of Winterville, NC, and uncle Carl Miglin of Monticello, IL. Her pa- rents preceded her in death. Anna donated her body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the University of Minnesota Medical School. A me- morial service will be held at a later date. Anthony Park Home and Midwest Hospice for their care of Anna. Solberg, Lisa Margaret age 64, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2023 due to a ruptured brain aneurysm. Lisa was a person full of joy. She was warm and welcoming and exuded a nurturing energy that made you feel safe and loved. She made friends out of strangers and went out of her way to make sure people felt special and important.

She had a laugh that filled the room and could rarely be seen without a smile. Her favorite word was and would encourage those around her to always remain hopeful, even in most trying situations. Lisa was born on March 8, 1959, to Gerald and Helen Raunig of Missoula, Montana. She received her degree from Montana State University, and completed a in Business Administration at the University of Denver. After college, she moved to Seattle, Washington.

It was in the coffee room on her first day of work that she met the love of her life, John. They wed in 1982 and had two children, Nicole and Jeffrey. The Solberg family moved to Edina, MN in 1999, where Lisa took joy in raising her children and being involved in their sports and clubs. She enjoyed time spent at their cabin and loved making holidays special with themed dinners and festive decor. Lisa was an incredi- ble chef and found such enjoyment in passing along her love of cooking and baking to her children and granddaughter.

After 20 years of Minnesota winters, Lisa and John decided it was time to make sunny Scottsdale, Arizona their home, where she loved to entertain friends and family. She enjoyed exploring her new town, Jeep adventures with John, floating in the pool and sharing the bounty of her prized lemon tree. Lisa loved to travel, especially with her family. Her and John would take bicycle trips all over the world together and had many more excursions planned for the future. In her last year and a half of life, Lisa took profound joy in becoming a grandmother and loved spending time with her granddaughters whenever she could.

Lisa is survived by her loving hus- band of 41 years, John; her children, Nicole (Jon) Seppelt and Jeffrey (Bridget) Solberg; her grandchil- dren, Penelope and Cecilia Seppelt; her mother, Helen Raunig; and siblings, Linda Raunig (Patti Hagemeyer), Michael (Sheila) Raunig, Susan Raunig (Greg Roeben). Preceded in death by her father, Jerry Raunig. Spagenski, Nevada James Nevada passed away of natural causes in his sleep the morning of He was born on May 18, 1990. Although faced with many health obstacles, Nevada engage in self pity. He was a man not able to speak, but able to make friends and find his way into the hearts of all he en- countered.

He never told a lie and never found a need to. Nevada went through life with a kind heart and a big smile. He attended the Osseo School system. After graduating from high school, Nevada attended Midwest Special Services until the Covid epidemic disruption in 2020. Nevada was blessed with the care of many professio- nals over the course of his short life.

In 2017, he found a place to grow in independence when he moved into a four resident home. warm, positive per- sonality gained him close friends among his peers in his new com- munity. Living at the SEEK Home al- lowed him to go on new adventures and opened his world in a way that was beautiful to watch. Always ready to grab your hand and show you the way to his favorite things, Nevada brought laughter and love to his home. Nevada especially missed his Grandma Donna when she passed away and found comfort in sitting with her photo.

Nevada is survived by parents Phil and Val Peterson, sisters Sierra Spagenski and Heather Peterson (Derek Pritchett). Dave was born on February 9, 1938 to Clifford and Inger Stahl, in Chisholm, Minnesota. Throughout his life, he was known for being a devoted husband and father. For 43 years, Dave worked as a Metro Transit Driver, and when he working, he could be found motorcycling, snowmobiling, spending time with his family, or helping his son, Doug, build his home. Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; brother, Donald Stahl; sister, Gloria Kaberle; and his brother-in-law, Terrance Shuster. Born June 29, 1941, in west- ern Minneso- ta, Dick lived the majority of his life in the Forest Lake community. After high school, he served two years in the Army, graduated from the 82nd Airborne Division, and re- turned home to marry his sweet- heart, Janet Rose Marier and raise a family together.

Dick and his late business partner, Jack (John) Palmer, purchased Tire Shop in 1971, where he proudly sold and serviced tires for multiple generations of families, farms, businesses in the Lakes Area for over 50 years. Through he supported many local institutions including the American Legion, VFW, Masons, and FLHS sports teams. Dick also colla- borated with FLHS to create a schol- arship for students pursuing trade school education in automotive service or technology. Even in his passing, Dick chose to help others by participating in the University of Minnesota Medical Anatomy Bequest Pro- gram, which supports high quality education for future health profes- sionals and continued advance- ments in medical care through research. He is preceded in death by his fa- ther, Victor; mother, Irene; sisters, Audrey Angerhofer and Joann Stark.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jan; sons, R. Victor Stark, Russ (Melissa) Stark, Ryan (Katie) Stark; and four grandchildren, Maxwell and Luca Franklin and Julia sister, Delores (Don) Carlson; nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednes- day, November 8, 2023 at the Church of St. Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to mass at the church.

A luncheon will immediately follow at the church. The family also invites you for a special toast (at re- quest), at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at American Legion Post 225, 355 W. Broadway Forest Lake, MN 55025. A vibrant, adventurous, and empathetic woman, Betty was laid to rest at Oaklawn Cemetery on October 16 in a small ceremony, surrounded by her devoted hus- band, Walter Stromseth, her chil- dren, other dear family members, and close friends. Betty graduated from St. Olaf Col- lege Phi Beta Kappa in 1953. She later worked at St.

Olaf as Director of International Studies, designing and managing study abroad pro- grams that spanned the world. Betty is survived by Walter, 95; their three children (Jane, James, and Jonathan); and four grandchildren (Sarah, Jonathan, Katherine, and Claire). She lived a life full of adven- ture and joy, and was a role model for a life well lived. Her family will miss her dearly. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 30 at 3:00 pm at St.

Lutheran Church in Northfield, where Betty, together with Walt, was a longtime member of the congregation. A reception will be held at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, the Stromseth family invites donations to the Wal- ter and Betty Stromseth Endow- ment for Intercultural and Inter-Re- ligious Education at St. Olaf College. Their Endowment is designed to in- crease understanding of major world cultures and their religious traditions.
